SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:
Article - Education
16-403.
(c) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this
subsection, the State share is 50 percent of the current
expenses of each community college, but not more than [$850
per full-time equivalent student, except that for fiscal
year 1982 only the State share shall not exceed] $878 per
full-time equivalent student.
(2) The State share is 55 percent of the current
expenses, but not more than [$1,30,5 per full-time equivalent
student, except that for fiscal year 1982 only the State
share shall not exceed] $1,384 per full-time equivalent
student for:
(i) Any community college with less than
500 full-time equivalent students if the county in which the
community college is located has a population of less than
50,000; and
(ii) Any regional community college if the
counties that support the regional community college have a
combined population of less than 150,000.
(3) The State share is 55 percent of the current
expenses for Cecil Community College, Garrett Community
College, Chesapeake College, and Wor-Wic Tech Community
College, but not more than [$1,540 per full-time equivalent
student, except that for fiscal year 1982 only the State
share shall not exceed] $1,619 per full-time equivalent
student.
(4) Except for Cecil Community College, Garrett
Community College, Chesapeake College, and Wor-Wic Tech
Community College, the State shall grant [in fiscal year
1982 only] to each board of trustees for community colleges
in this State:
(i) A flat grant of $200,000; and
(ii) $10 per part-time credit student
enrolled in the respective community college.
[(5) For fiscal year 1982 only, $1,000,000 shall
be distributed by the State Board for Community Colleges to
the boards of trustees of the community colleges, the funds
applicable to fiscal year 1981 deficiencies due to full-time
equivalent enrollments exceeding those calculated for fiscal
year 1981 pursuant to Section 16-404 of this article.]
