Cecil County - Licenses - Coin Operated Amusement Devices
FOR the purpose of requiring in Cecil County that electronic
games clarifying that in Cecil County electrical games
are required to be licensed, that license fees for coin
operated amusement devices be set by resolution of the
county commissioners, and that licenses be displayed on
each amusement device; repealing a provision relating
to certain age restrictions on the use of pinball
machines; and providing for certain penalties.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:
Article 8 - Cecil County
1-14.
(a) Every person, firm; association or corporation
keeping, maintaining or operating for public entertainment
or amusement within Cecil County any pinball machine
(console or other), ELECTRICAL GAME, shuffleboard,
mechanical bowling game, juke box or other mechanical
musical device, or any similar device whose operation
requires the insertion of a coin or token, shall obtain a
license from the county commissioners for each device [,and
shall pay twenty-five dollars annually for each license;
provided, however, that it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm, association, or corporation keeping, maintaining or
operating any pinball machine (console or other) to permit
the use or operation thereof by any person under the age of
eighteen years]. THE FEE FOR THE LICENSE SHALL BE SET BY
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
(b) Every person, firm, association or corporation
distributing cigarettes by means of a vending machine shall
obtain a license from the county commissioners for each
machine, and shall pay ten dollars annually for each
license.
(c) Every machine or device required to be licensed
under this section shall bear a tag or sticker issued by the
said county commissioners.
