Orphans' Court Judges' Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of each associate
judge and the Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for
Prince George's County; providing for the effective
date of this Act; and providing that this Act does not
affect the incumbent officeholders.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 2-108(q)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Estates and Trusts

2-108.

(q) The salary of each associate judge of the court
for Prince George's County shall be [$14,500] $17,000
$16,000 per annum, and the salary of the Chief Judge shall
be [$16,000] $17,500 $16,500 per annum.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
judges of the Orphans' Court for Prince George's County in
office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions
of this Act concerning the salary of the judges of the
Orphans' Court for Prince George's County shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect December 1, 1982.
