7-1.

[(m) The provisions of this section for the form of a
petition, verification and endorsement of signatures on it,
notification to the State Administrative Board of Election
Laws of the results, and determination of the sufficiency of
the petition apply to petitions of candidates for a county
board of education.]

[32-1.

(a)  The members of the Allegany County Board of
Education shall be elected on a nonpartisan basis, and no
party labels or party identification shall be shown or
displayed with respect to candidates for these positions on
the ballots or ballot labels.

(b)  Nomination for membership on the Allegany County
Board of Education shall be by petition signed by at least
200 voters from the county. Each petition shall be filed
with the board of supervisors of elections of Allegany
County not later than 9:00 p.m. on the Monday which is ten
weeks or 70 days before the day on which the primary
election is held. Each petition shall conform generally to
the laws and requirements of this article. Each nominee at
the time of filing his petition shall submit therewith a
filing fee in the amount of $25.

(c)   If more than two persons file as candidates for
each vacancy on the board, the Allegany County board of
elections supervisors shall hold a primary election to
reduce the number of candidates to two per vacancy on the
board.

(d)  The five members of the board shall be elected at
large in Allegany County.]

[32-2.

(a)  Nomination for membership on the Board of
Education of Carroll County except as otherwise herein
provided, shall be by petition endorsed by a minimum of 200
registered voters from Carroll County. Each petition shall
be filed with the board of election supervisors of Carroll
County not later than 4:00 p.m. on the Monday which is 70
days before the day on which the general election in
November shall be held, and shall be accompanied by a $25
filing fee. Except as otherwise in this section provided,
each petition shall conform generally to the laws and
requirements of this article.

(b)  The board of supervisors of elections of Carroll
County shall provide for the election of members of the
Board of Education as herein provided. Provisions shall be
made for the use of voting machines, or, in the alternative,
