AN ACT concerning

Natural Resources - Disposition of Lost
or Abandoned Property

FOR the purpose of providing a means to properly dispose of
property lost or abandoned within property owned or
administered by the Department of Natural Resources
that an item lost or abandoned within a State forest or
wildlife management area and unclaimed for a certain
period becomes the property of the State and may be
disposed of by the Secretary of Natural Resources in
the best interests of the State.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

An item lost or abandoned within a State FOREST, park,
OR OTHER PROPERTY OWNED OR ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT
UNDER AUTHORITY OF THIS ARTICLE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA and
unclaimed for one year becomes the property of the State,
and the Secretary may dispose of the item in the best
interest of the State.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
