CHAPTER 334

(House Bill 198)

AN ACT concerning

Occupational Therapists - Foreign Trained

FOR the purpose of allowing an applicant for an occupational
therapist license or an occupational therapy assistant
license to meet the educational qualifications for a
license by completing successfully certain education
requirements of a program approved by the World
Federation of Occupational Therapy.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Health Occupations
Section 9-302(d) and (e)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1981 Volume and 1981 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

9-302.

(d) An applicant for an occupational therapist license
shall have completed successfully:

(1) The academic requirements of an educational
program in occupational therapy that:

(i) Is recognized by the Board and
accredited by the American Medical Association in
collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy
Association[; and] OR BY THE WORLD FEDERATION OF
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY; AND

(ii) Is concentrated in:

1.   Biological or physical science;

2.   Psychology;
