"Interagency Committee on Aging Services"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1978 Replacement Volume and 1981 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 70B - Office on Aging

INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE ON AGING SERVICES

25. 4A.

(A)  THE STATE OFFICE ON AGING SHALL ESTABLISH

INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE ON AGING SERVICES SHALL COORDINATE THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A FAMILY CARE PROGRAM OF SUPPORT SERVICES FOR
FAMILIES WHO CARE IN THEIR HOMES FOR THEIR ELDERLY RELATIVES
WHO ARE 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. THE SUPPORT PROGRAM SHALL
INCLUDE FINANCIAL GRANTS, COUNSELING, AND INSTRUCTION
ASSISTANCE.

(B)  IN THE PERFORMANCE OF ITS RESPONSIBILITIES, THE

STATE OFFICE ON AGING INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE ON AGING

SERVICES SHALL:

(1)  PROVIDE FOR THE MAXIMUM USE OF SENIOR
CENTERS FOR INTAKE OF NEW CASES;

(2)  COORDINATE EFFORTS WITH OTHER STATE AGENCIES
IN ORDER TO AVOID DUPLICATION OF EFFORTS; AND

(3)  PROVIDE FOR THE USE OF STATE FUNDS TO

SUPPLEMENT THE RESOURCES OF THE ELDERLY FAMILY MEMBER. THE

STATE OFFICE ON AGING SHALL; AND

(4)  SEEK FUNDS FROM LOCAL AND FEDERAL SOURCES.

(C) THE STATE OFFICE ON AGING SHALL ESTABLISH AND
ADMINISTER RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE FAMILY CARE
PROGRAM. THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL INCLUDE (C) THE
INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE ON AGING SERVICES SHALL ESTABLISH
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, IMPLEMENTATION REGULATIONS, AND
ACCOUNTABILITY PROCEDURES.
