AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Juvenile Appeals

FOR the purpose of clarifying a conflict in the law relating
to juvenile appeals in Montgomery County to make clear
that an action, decision, order, or judgment of the
juvenile court in Montgomery County shall be treated as
if made, done, or entered by a circuit court.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

12-403.

(a) An appeal from the District Court sitting in one
of the counties shall be taken to the circuit court of the
county in which judgment was entered. In Montgomery County,
an appeal from the District Court sitting as a juvenile
court shall be [treated as an appeal in a criminal case] AS
PROVIDED FOR IN § 3-832 OF THIS ARTICLE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
