AN ACT concerning

Maryland Transportation Authority - Notice of Proposed
Contracts and Agreements

FOR the purpose of requiring the Maryland Transportation
Authority, within a certain length of time before it
enters into certain contracts and agreements, to
provide certain information to the Legislative Policy
Committee and the Department of Fiscal Services; and
clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

4-205.

(C) (1) [The] SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATIONS DESCRIBED IN
PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION, THE Authority may make any
contracts and agreements necessary or incidental to the
exercise of its powers and performance of its duties.

(2) NOT LESS THAN 30 DAYS BEFORE ENTERING INTO
ANY CONTRACT OR AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE OR CONSTRUCT A
REVENUE-PRODUCING TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES PROJECT, THE
AUTHORITY SHALL PROVIDE THE LEGISLATIVE POLICY COMMITTEE AND
THE DEPARTMENT OF FISCAL SERVICES WITH INFORMATION ON THE
PROPOSED CONTRACT OR AGREEMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
