(Senate Bill 54)

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City - Board of Electrical Examiners

FOR the purpose of altering certain bonding requirements for
licensure as an electrician in this State Baltimore
City; prohibiting electricians from doing certain work
unless the licensee has filed a certain bond with the
Board; declaring this Act an emergency measure; and
generally relating to the licensure and bonding of
electricians.

Section 3-11

Article 4 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1979 Edition, as amended)

BY adding to

(1979 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 4 - Baltimore City

3-11.

[Each license and renewal of same shall be in force and
effect only so long as an approved bond filed with the said
Board in accordance with the provisions of this subtitle
shall remain in full force and effect, and every such
license or renewal of same shall become utterly void and of
no effect, should any such bond for any reason whatsoever
become inoperative or ineffective, regardless of the regular
date of expiration of said certificate, license or renewal.]

(A)  ANY LICENSEE REQUIRED TO FILE A BOND MAY RENEW THE
LICENSE WITHOUT THE FILING OF A BOND, IF THE LICENSE IS HELD
BY THE BOARD AS INACTIVE UNTIL THE APPROPRIATE BOND IS
FILED.

(B)  A LICENSEE MAY NOT INSTALL, MAINTAIN, SERVICE, OR
REPAIR ELECTRICAL WIRES, CONDUCTORS, OR APPARATUS FOR
ELECTRIC HEAT, LIGHT, OR POWER PURPOSES UNLESS THE LICENSEE
