REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language used as
the standard introductory language to a
definition section.

See also § 1-101 of this article for other
applicable definitions.

(B)  DISCHARGE.
"DISCHARGE" MEANS:

(1) THE ADDITION, INTRODUCTION, LEAKING,
SPILLING, OR EMITTING OF A POLLUTANT INTO THE WATERS OF THIS
STATE; OR

(2) THE PLACING OF A POLLUTANT IN A LOCATION
WHERE THE POLLUTANT IS LIKELY TO POLLUTE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
patterned after NR § 8-1401(b).

In item (1) of this subsection, the defined term
"waters of this State" is substituted for "state
waters".

(C)  DISPOSAL SYSTEM.

(1) "DISPOSAL SYSTEM" MEANS A SYSTEM FOR
DISPOSING OF WASTES BY SURFACE, ABOVE SURFACE, OR
UNDERGROUND METHODS.

(2) "DISPOSAL SYSTEM" INCLUDES A TREATMENT WORKS
AND A DISPOSAL WELL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as NR
§ 8-1401(c).

In paragraph (1) of this section, the former term
"either" is deleted as unnecessary and
potentially confusing.

In paragraph (2) of this section, the former
reference to "other systems" is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the definition of
"includes" in § 1-101 of this article.

The only other changes are in style.

(D)  EFFLUENT LIMITATION.

(1) "EFFLUENT LIMITATION" MEANS A RESTRICTION OR
