"PATIENT". MEANS:

(1)  AN INDIVIDUAL FOR WHOM A BARBITURATE IS
PREPARED OR ADMINISTERED; OR

(2)  THE OWNER OR AN AGENT OF THE OWNER OF AN
ANIMAL FOR WHICH A BARBITURATE IS PRESCRIBED OR TO WHICH A
BARBITURATE IS ADMINISTERED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 284(c).

The only changes are in style.

(F) PHARMACIST.

"PHARMACIST" MEANS A PHARMACIST WHO IS LICENSED BY THE
STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 284(f).

(G) PRACTITIONER.

"PRACTITIONER" MEANS A PERSON WHO IS AUTHORIZED BY LAW
TO PRESCRIBE AND ADMINISTER BARBITURATES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 284(e).

The word "authorized" is substituted for
"licensed" in keeping with apparent legislative
intent.

The only other changes are in style.

(H) PRESCRIPTION.

"PRESCRIPTION" MEANS AN ORAL OR WRITTEN ORDER BY A
PRACTITIONER TO A PHARMACIST FOR A BARBITURATE FOR A
PARTICULAR PATIENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause
of former Article 43, § 284(g).

The balance of former Article 43, § 284(g), which
referred to the contents of the prescription and
its signing and recording, is deleted as
