LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 240

(C) ACETIC ACID CONTENT.

UNLESS THE VINEGAR IS MIXED WITH OTHER FOOD, A PERSON
MAY NOT MANUFACTURE FOR SALE, DELIVER, SELL, OR POSSESS WITH
INTENT TO SELL OR DELIVER ANY VINEGAR THAT CONTAINS LESS
THAN 3.5 PERCENT ABSOLUTE ACETIC ACID BY WEIGHT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, §§ 182 and 183.

In subsection (a) of this section, "contains" is
substituted for "found upon proper test to
contain", for clarity and simplicity.

Throughout this section, the former references to
"offer for sale" are deleted in light of § 4-102
of this title.

4-909. FORFEITURE AND DESTRUCTION.

ANY VINEGAR SOLD IN VIOLATION OF § 4-908 OF THIS
SUBTITLE IS SUBJECT TO FORFEITURE AND DESTRUCTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the
last half of the second clause of former Article
43, § 185.

The word "destruction" is substituted for
"spoliation" for clarity.

The former language "or offered for sale" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of § 4-102 of
this title.

The only other changes are in style.

The first half of the second clause of former
Article 43, § 185, which related to the
disposition of fines collected for certain
violations of this part of this subtitle, is
deleted as unnecessary in light of other,
independent provisions of law.

SUBTITLE 10. MISCELLANEOUS FOOD PROVISIONS.

PART I. METHYL AND DENATURED ALCOHOL.

4-1001. SALE OF METHYL AND DENATURED ALCOHOL FOR BEVERAGE
