HARRY HUGHES, Governor

1945

without substantive change from former Article
43, § 570(r).

The defined term is changed from "pasteurization"
to "pasteurized" for clarity.

In paragraph (2) of this subsection "effective"
is substituted for "efficient" for clarity.

(S) PERMIT.

"PERMIT" MEANS A PERMIT ISSUED BY THE SECRETARY UNDER
THIS SUBTITLE THAT AUTHORIZES THE HOLDER OF THE PERMIT TO DO
ANY ACT THAT IS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PERMIT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
for clarity.

(T) RAW MILK.

"RAW MILK" MEANS UNPASTEURIZED MILK.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to permit easy reference to milk that has not yet
been pasteurized.

(U) RECEIVING STATION.

"RECEIVING STATION" MEANS ANY PLACE WHERE, FOR DELIVERY
TO A MILK PLANT, RAW MILK IS COLLECTED, COOLED, AND STORED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 570(c).

The former terms "prepared" and "processed" are
omitted in this subsection to reflect the
apparent legislative intent that the Secretary is
required to issue a receiving station permit only
for a place where an activity enumerated in this
revised subsection occurs. The former references
to preparing and processing served only to
describe activities that are permitted in a
receiving station but do not trigger a
requirement that a receiving station permit be
obtained. See § 4-416 of this subtitle.

(V) TRANSFER STATION.

"TRANSFER STATION" MEANS A PLACE WHERE RAW MILK IS
TRANSFERRED DIRECTLY FROM A MILK TRUCK TANK TO ANOTHER MILK
TRUCK TANK FOR DELIVERY TO A MILK PLANT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 570(d).
