publishes the Grade A Pasteurized Milk Ordinance.

(I) MILK.

"MILK" MEANS THE MILK OF A COW OR GOAT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the reference to
the "lacteal secretion" of cows in the second
sentence of former Article 43, § 570(v) and the
reference to the "lacteal secretion" of goats in
the first sentence and the entire second sentence
of (w).

The word "milk" is substituted for "lacteal
secretion" for clarity and simplicity.

As to standards for milk, see § 4-422 of this
subtitle.

(J) MILK FAT.

"MILK FAT" MEANS THE NATURAL FAT OF MILK.

without substantive change from the fourth
sentence of former Article 43, § 570(v).

(K) MILK PLANT.

(1)  "MILK PLANT" MEANS ANY PLACE WHERE, FOR
DISTRIBUTION, MILK PRODUCTS ARE:

(I)  PROCESSED;

(II)  PASTEURIZED;

(III)  BOTTLED OR PACKAGED; OR

(IV)  PREPARED.

(2)  "MILK PLANT" DOES NOT INCLUDE A PLACE WHERE
MILK PRODUCTS ARE SOLD AT RETAIL ONLY.

The former terms "collected", "handled", and
"stored" are omitted in this subsection to
reflect the apparent legislative intent that the
Secretary is required to issue a milk plant
permit only for a place where an activity
