HARRY HUGHES, Governor

191

(2) THAT PROVIDES TO 2 OR MORE UNRELATED
INDIVIDUALS:

(I)  ANY INPATIENT MEDICAL, SURGICAL, OR
DIAGNOSTIC CARE OR TREATMENT; OR

(II)  ANY NURSING, CUSTODIAL, OR
DOMICILIARY CARE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 14(a)(9).

The only changes are in style.

(I) MORTICIAN.

"MORTICIAN" MEANS A FUNERAL DIRECTOR, MORTICIAN, OR
OTHER PERSON WHO IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE FINAL DISPOSITION OF
A BODY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid repetition of phrases such as
"mortician, funeral director or other person
authorized to make disposition of the corpse".

The term "mortician" is used for conformity to
the broadest reference in the Health Occupations
Article. However, this definition relates only
to the term "mortician" as used in this subtitle
and has no effect on who may be licensed or
authorized to make final dispositions of bodies.
In that regard, see Title 6 of the Health
Occupations Article.

Defined terms: "Body" § 4-201

"Final disposition" § 4-201 "Person" § 1-101

(J) REGISTRATION.

"REGISTRATION" MEANS ACCEPTANCE BY THE SECRETARY AND
INCORPORATION IN THE RECORDS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ANY
CERTIFICATE, REPORT, OR OTHER RECORD OF BIRTH, DEATH, FETAL
DEATH, ADOPTION, MARRIAGE, OR DIVORCE FOR WHICH THIS
SUBTITLE PROVIDES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 14(a)(3).

References to the "Secretary" and "records of the
Department" are substituted for the obsolete
references to the "State Board of Health and
Mental Hygiene" and "its" records. See the
General Revisor's Note to this article.
