(d) (1) [Each (I) SUBJECT TO SUBPARAGRAPH (II)
BELOW, EACH space reserved for a handicapped person ]
BEGINNING JULY 1, 1982, SPACES RESERVED FOR HANDICAPPED
PERSONS shall be signified by a sign [ with the
international symbol of access and the words "handicapped
parking" on it ] . IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THE STATE MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
(II) ALL SIGNS ERECTED OR REPLACED AFTER
JULY 1, 1982 WHICH RESERVE A SPACE FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS
SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE
MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
(2) (i) Except as provided in this paragraph,
the bottom edge of the sign shall be at least [8] 7 feet
above the ground.
(ii) If the sign is placed against a
building, structure, or other location that does not
obstruct vehicle or pedestrian traffic, the bottom edge of
the sign shall be at least 6 feet AND NO MORE THAN 10 FEET
above the ground.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

Increase in Salaries of Planning Board Members

FOR the purpose of increasing the salaries of planning board
members of the Maryland-National Capital Park and
Planning Commission; and providing that this Act does
not affect incumbents; and providing for a certain
effective date.
