(House Bill 1051)

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Repeal of Bicycle Registration

FOR the purpose of repealing the bicycle registration
program administered by the Motor Vehicle
Administration.

BY repealing

Article - Transportation

Section 13-421

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1977 Volume and 1981 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Transportation

[13-421.

(a)  (1) The owner of a bicycle may register it by
applying to the Administration on the form that the
Administration requires.

(2) The application shall:

(i) Contain the information that the
Administration reasonably requires to properly identify the
bicycle and its owner;

(ii) Be signed by the owner of the
bicycle; and

(iii) Be accompanied by the required fee.

(b)   For purposes of this section, if the owner of the
bicycle is a minor, his parent or guardian or another
responsible adult shall apply on behalf of the minor.

(c)  The Administration shall:

(1)  File each application for bicycle
registration that it receives;

(2)  Register the described bicycle if it finds
that the applicant is entitled to the registration; and
