effective until 10 DAYS after at least [one] 1 public
hearing in relation thereto, at which parties in interest
and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard. [At
least fifteen (15) days' notice of the time and place of
such hearing shall be published in an official paper or a
paper of general circulation in said jurisdiction.] NOTICE
OF THE TIME AND PLACE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING, TOGETHER WITH
A SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED REGULATION, RESTRICTION, OR
BOUNDARY, SHALL BE PUBLISHED IN AT LEAST 1 NEWSPAPER OF
GENERAL CIRCULATION IN THE JURISDICTION ONCE EACH WEEK FOR 2
SUCCESSIVE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE HEARING, WITH THE FIRST SUCH
PUBLICATION OF NOTICE APPEARING AT LEAST 15 14 DAYS PRIOR TO
THE HEARING.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning

Deaf, Mute or Blind - Interpreters
at Public Meetings Hearings

FOR the purpose of repealing the authority of certain
governmental authorities to determine whether the
provision of a qualified interpreter is feasible to
assist deaf persons at public meetings or hearings
conducted by any State department or agency or by the
General Assembly; and modifying the circumstances upon
which governmental authorities are required to provide
qualified interpreters.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 30 - Deaf, Mute or Blind

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
