SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows;

Article - Health Occupations

14-601.

(d) (1) IN THIS SUBSECTION, "CIVIL ACTION" INCLUDES A
HEALTH CARE MALPRACTICE CLAIM UNDER TITLE 3, SUBTITLE 2A OF
THE COURTS AND JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS ARTICLE.

(2) Except as otherwise provided in this
section, the proceedings, records, and files of a medical
review committee are not discoverable and are not admissible
in evidence in any civil action arising out of matters that
are being reviewed and evaluated by the medical review
committee.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
