HARRY HUGHES, Governor                               1167

General Assembly of Maryland, and it contains also the
charters of the several municipal corporations within
Calvert County as in effect on July 1, 1981. The Code shall
be deemed and taken in all the courts of the State and by
all other public officials of the State and of its several
political subdivisions, to be evidence of the public local
laws of Calvert County in effect at the time of compilation.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

(House Bill 1535)

AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - County Treasurer

FOR the purpose of repealing a prohibtion prohibition on the
treasurer of Calvert County being reelected for
consecutive terms of office.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Calvert County
Section 5-101

Article 5 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1981 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 5 - Calvert County

5-101.

At the general election held on the first Tuesday after
the first Monday in November every fourth year, accounting
from the year 1942, a county treasurer for Calvert County
shall be elected by the qualified voters of the county who
shall hold office for four years or until [his] A successor
is elected and qualified. [He] THE COUNTY TREASURER is
subject to removal for wilful neglect of duty or misdemeanor
in office upon conviction in a court of law. [He is not
eligible for re-election until after an interval of one full
term and until he has fully settled up all business
