AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County - Sheriff Salary and Deputy Sheriffs

FOR the purpose of incrementally increasing the annual
salary of the Sheriff of St. Mary's County; providing
that this Act does not affect the incumbent Sheriff of
St. Mary's County; repealing a provision concerning the
Sheriff's expense allowance; repealing a provision
providing for the number of deputy sheriffs in St.
Mary's County; and clarifying language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-309.

[(t) The Sheriff of St. Mary's County shall receive a
salary of $18,000 and no expense allowance. He shall have
the number of deputies provided for in the public local laws
of St. Mary's County.]
