Ch. 20

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of
Calvert County to provide that certain unpaid charges
for certain removal services shall be liens upon the
real property against which the charges have been made;
and specifying that certain notice shall be given to
the property owner.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

9D. 9E.

(A)  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CALVERT COUNTY MAY
PROVIDE THAT ANY VALID UNPAID CHARGES MADE AGAINST ANY REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN THE COUNTY FOR THE REMOVAL OF ANY
UNAUTHORIZED ACCUMULATION OF WEEDS AND DEBRIS FROM THAT
PROPERTY SHALL BE LIENS, UNTIL PAID, UPON THE REAL PROPERTY
AGAINST WHICH THE REMOVAL CHARGES HAVE BEEN MADE.

(B)  PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF WEEDS OR DEBRIS FROM
PROPERTY UNDER CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE
IMPOSITION OF A LIEN AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (A),
REASONABLE NOTICE SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE PROPERTY OWNER THAT
SUCH A LIEN MAY BE IMPOSED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
