7-205.

In addition to the powers and duties set forth
elsewhere in this title, the Board has the following powers
and duties:

(3)  To adopt rules and regulations for the
performance of additional acts that:

(i) Require formal education and clinical
experience or its equivalent; and

(ii) Are recognized jointly by the [State
Board of Medical Examiners] MEDICAL and [the State Board of
Examiners of Nurses] NURSING PROFESSIONS as proper to be
performed by registered nurses;

(4)  To adopt rules and regulations for the
performance of additional acts that:

(i) May be performed under any condition
authorized by the Board, including emergencies;

(ii) Require education and clinical
experience; and

(iii) Are recognized by the [State Board
of Medical Examiners] MEDICAL and [the State Board of
Examiners of Nurses] NURSING PROFESSIONS as proper to be
performed by registered nurses or licensed practical nurses;

A licensed nurse midwife who was [governed] LICENSED by
the law that regulated midwives on or before July 1, 1978
remains [governed] LICENSED by that law until rules and
regulations to regulate these licensees are adopted by the
Board and take effect.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect on July 1, 1981, contingent upon the

taking effect of Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) of the Acts of 1981,

and if Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) does not become effective, this

Act shall be null and void without the necessity of further
action by the General Assembly.
