(3) SUBMITS TO THE BOARD:

(I)  A RENEWAL APPLICATION ON THE FORM THAT
THE BOARD REQUIRES; AND

(II)  SATISFACTORY EVIDENCE OF COMPLIANCE
WITH ANY CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT SET UNDER THIS
SECTION FOR LICENSE RENEWAL.

(E)  CONTINUING EDUCATION.

(1)  FOR EACH AREA OF SPECIALIZATION IN THE
PRACTICE OF SOCIAL WORK, THE BOARD MAY ESTABLISH CONTINUING
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AS A CONDITION TO THE RENEWAL OF
LICENSES UNDER THIS SECTION.

(2)  THE BOARD SHALL STANDARDIZE THE CONTINUING
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS WITHIN EACH AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
AND WITHIN EACH TYPE OF LICENSE.

(F)  ISSUANCE OF RENEWAL.

(1)  THE BOARD SHALL RENEW THE LICENSE OF AND
ISSUE A RENEWAL CERTIFICATE TO EACH LICENSEE WHO MEETS THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

(2)  THE BOARD SHALL INCLUDE THE TERM OF THE
RENEWAL ON EACH RENEWAL CERTIFICATE THAT THE BOARD ISSUES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) through (f) of this
section are new language derived without
substantive change from the first seven sentences
of Art. 43, § 868(d) and from Art. 43, § 868(e).

In subsection (b) of this section, the term
"first class mail" is substituted for "regular
mail" for clarity.

Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new language
added for clarity since, under the rules and
regulations of the Board, renewal applications
are due earlier than the expiration date to give
the Board time to process renewals.

Subsection (d) of this section is new language
added to clarify the authority of the Board under
§§ 18-205 and 18-206 of this title and subsection
(e) of this section to adopt standards and
qualifications for continued licensing and to
establish fees for license renewal.

The eighth sentence of present Art. 43, § 868(d)
provides that, if the licensee fails to renew the
license, "his right to practice shall be
suspended". This sentence is deleted as
misleading and, in any event, unnecessary. If
