HARRY HUGHES, Governor

701

18-206. ESTABLISHMENT OF FEES; LIST OF FEES; DISPOSITION OF
FUNDS.

(A)  FEES IN GENERAL.

(1)  EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY THIS
SUBSECTION, THE BOARD MAY SET REASONABLE FEES FOR THE
ISSUANCE AND RENEWAL OF LICENSES AND ITS OTHER SERVICES.

(2)  THE FEES CHARGED SHALL BE SET TO PRODUCE
FUNDS SO AS TO APPROXIMATE THE COST OF MAINTAINING THE
BOARD.

(3)  THE BOARD MAY SET DIFFERENT FEES FOR
DIFFERENT LICENSES, BUT MAY NOT CHARGE A FEE IN EXCESS OF
$50.

(B)  LIST OF FEES.

THE BOARD SHALL PROVIDE A LIST OF THE FEES SET UNDER
THIS SECTION TO EACH APPLICANT FOR A LICENSE.

(C)  DISPOSITION OF FUNDS.

THE BOARD SHALL PAY ALL FUNDS COLLECTED UNDER THIS
TITLE INTO THE GENERAL FUND OF THIS STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the reference to
fees in Art. 43, § 863(a) and from Art. 43, §
868(g).

The first clause of present Art. 43, § 863(a),
which provides that the Board has the power and
duty "{t}o administer, coordinate, and enforce
the provisions of this subtitle," is deleted as a
needless specification of powers of the Board
that are set out in this title. In addition, the
penultimate and last clauses of present Art. 43,
§ 863(a), which refer to the power and duty of
the Board to "evaluate the qualifications of
applicants" and "supervise the examination of
applicants", are deleted as unnecessary in light
of the provisions of §§ 18-302 and 18-304,
respectively, of this title.

SUBTITLE 3. LICENSING.

18-301. LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTIONS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, AN
INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE LICENSED BY THE BOARD BEFORE THE
INDIVIDUAL MAY PRACTICE SOCIAL WORK IN THIS STATE.
