(2)  THE DATE BY WHICH THE RENEWAL APPLICATION
MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE BOARD FOR THE RENEWAL TO BE ISSUED
AND MAILED BEFORE THE CERTIFICATION EXPIRES; AND

(3)  THE AMOUNT OF THE RENEWAL FEE.

(C)  APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL.

BEFORE THE CERTIFICATION OF A REGISTERED SANITARIAN
EXPIRES, THE REGISTERED SANITARIAN CERTIFIED MAY RENEW IT
FOR AN ADDITIONAL 1-YEAR TERM, IF THE REGISTERED SANITARIAN:

(1)  OTHERWISE IS ENTITLED TO BE CERTIFIED;

(2)  PAYS TO THE BOARD A RENEWAL FEE OF $5; AND

(3)  SUBMITS TO THE BOARD A RENEWAL APPLICATION
ON THE FORM THAT THE BOARD REQUIRES.

(D)  SERIAL NUMBER OF RENEWAL.

THE RENEWAL CERTIFICATE SHALL BEAR THE SAME SERIAL
NUMBER ASSIGNED TO THE REGISTERED SANITARIAN AT THE TIME OF
THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first three
sentences of Art. 43, § 731(c).

Subsection (b) of this section — which provides
for renewal notice — is new language added to
conform to current Board practice and to similar
provisions governing other health occupations in
present Art. 43. See, e.g.. Art. 43, § 634(c),
as to psychologists, and Art. 43, § 868(d), as to
social workers.

Subsection (c)(1) of this section is new language
added for clarity.

In subsection (d) of this section, "renewal
certificate" is substituted for the term "current
identification card" in light of the definition
of "certificate" in § 17-101 of this title.

17-311. TERM AND RENEWAL OF CERTIFICATION — SANITARIAN IN
TRAINING.

(A) TERM OF CERTIFICATION.

CERTIFICATION AS A SANITARIAN IN TRAINING EXPIRES ON
THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS EFFECTIVE DATE, UNLESS IT IS
RENEWED FOR A 4-YEAR TERM AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.
