In subsection (c) of this section, the reference
in present Art. 43, § 733(h) to the procedures
under which the Board may issue a replacement
certificate are deleted as unnecessary since they
are implicit in the power of the Board to issue
certificates.

Also in subsection (c) of this section, the
present reference to replacement of a revoked
certificate is deleted as unnecessary in light of
the power of the Board to reissue a revoked
certificate under § 17-314(e) of this subtitle.

17-309. SCOPE OF CERTIFICATION.

(A)  REGISTERED SANITARIAN.

CERTIFICATION AS A REGISTERED SANITARIAN AUTHORIZES THE
REGISTERED SANITARIAN TO USE THE TITLE "REGISTERED
SANITARIAN" AND THE INITIALS "R.S." AFTER THE NAME OF THE
REGISTERED SANITARIAN WHILE THE CERTIFICATION IS EFFECTIVE.

(B)  SANITARIAN IN TRAINING.

CERTIFICATION AS A SANITARIAN IN TRAINING AUTHORIZES
THE SANITARIAN IN TRAINING TO USE THE TITLE "SANITARIAN IN
TRAINING" WHILE THE CERTIFICATION IS EFFECTIVE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from
Art. 43, § 735.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language
added as a standard provision to provide that an
individual certified as a sanitarian in training
may use the title "sanitarian in training".

17-310. TERM AND RENEWAL OF CERTIFICATION — REGISTERED
SANITARIAN.

(A)  TERM OF CERTIFICATION.

A CERTIFICATION AS A REGISTERED SANITARIAN EXPIRES ON
THE JULY 1 AFTER ITS EFFECTIVE DATE, UNLESS IT IS RENEWED
FOR A 1-YEAR TERM AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.

(B)  RENEWAL NOTICE.

AT LEAST 1 MONTH BEFORE THE CERTIFICATION AS A
REGISTERED SANITARIAN EXPIRES, THE BOARD SHALL SEND TO THE
REGISTERED SANITARIAN CERTIFIED, BY FIRST CLASS MAIL TO THE
LAST KNOWN ADDRESS OF THE REGISTERED SANITARIAN, A RENEWAL
NOTICE THAT STATES:

(1) THE DATE ON WHICH THE CURRENT CERTIFICATION
EXPIRES;
