(2)  A BACCALAUREATE DEGREE THAT INCLUDES 30
SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS IN NATURAL SCIENCES THAT MEET THE
EDUCATION STANDARDS SET BY THE BOARD; OR

(3)  A BACCALAUREATE DEGREE IN A FIELD OTHER THAN

(C) EXAMINATION.

THE APPLICANT SHALL PASS A WRITTEN EXAMINATION GIVEN BY
THE BOARD. THE EXAMINATION SHALL BE IN THE BASIC SCIENCES
THAT RELATE TO ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, § 728.

The reference to "certification" is added in
light of the definition of "certificate" in §
17-101 of this title.

In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the phrase
"that meet the education standards set by the
Board" is substituted for the term "acceptable"
to clarify the duty of the Board to set education
standards.

17-304. APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFICATION.

TO APPLY FOR CERTIFICATION, AN APPLICANT SHALL:

(1)  SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE BOARD ON THE
FORM THAT THE BOARD REQUIRES; AND

(2)  PAY TO THE BOARD AN APPLICATION FEE OF:

(I)  $10 FOR CERTIFICATION AS A SANITARIAN
IN TRAINING;

(II)  $15 FOR CERTIFICATION AS A REGISTERED
SANITARIAN, IF AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION THE APPLICANT IS A
SANITARIAN IN TRAINING; OR

(III)  $25 FOR CERTIFICATION AS A
REGISTERED SANITARIAN, IF THE APPLICANT IS NOT A SANITARIAN
IN TRAINING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Item (1) of this section is standard
language added to this and, where necessary,
corresponding sections of other titles of this
article. It states expressly a provision that
presently is only implied in the law: i.e., that
applications may be made only on the form
required by the Board.
