14-701 of this subtitle), which prohibits the
"practice of medicine" without a license.

14-703. PRESENTATION OF FALSE INFORMATION TO THE BOARD.

REPRESENTATION TO THE BOARD.

14-706. PENALTIES.

(1)  A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS
SUBTITLE IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS
SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $5,000 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT
EXCEEDING 5 YEARS OR BOTH.

(2)  A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF §
14-602 OF THIS TITLE IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON
CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $500.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, § 136,
except for subsection (a)(1) and (4) of that
section.

Present Art. 43, § 136(a)(1), which refers to the
false registration of a physician with the Board,
is deleted as unnecessary in light of § 14-504(1)
of this title.

The present minimum penalties are deleted to
conform to the statement of legislative policy
contained in Art. 27, § 643 of the Code, which
sets forth the general rule that, notwithstanding
a prescribed minimum penalty, the court
nevertheless may impose a lesser penalty of the
same character.

In paragraph (2) of this section, the catchline
to the referenced section is added as an aid to
the reader only. It is not intended to be part
of the substantive law (cf. Art. 1, § 18 of the
Code) and, for this reason, is placed in
brackets.
