(1)  PROVIDES MEDICAL SERVICES TO PATIENTS FOR
WHICH THE PHYSICIAN RECEIVES NO PERSONAL REMUNERATION;

(2)  IS NOT ENGAGED IN THE PRIVATE PRACTICE OF
MEDICINE; AND

(3)  OTHERWISE QUALIFIES FOR A LICENSE UNDER THIS
TITLE.

(B)  TERM AND RENEWAL OF LICENSE.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION,
EACH LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION EXPIRES ON THE FIRST
ANNIVERSARY OF THE DATE ON WHICH IT IS ISSUED AND MAY BE
RENEWED ANNUALLY ON APPLICATION TO THE BOARD.

(C)  TERMINATION OF FEE EXEMPTION.

(1)  IF, AT ANY TIME, A PHYSICIAN LICENSED UNDER
THIS SECTION CEASES TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBSECTION
(A)(1) OR (2) OF THIS SECTION, THE LICENSEE SHALL NOTIFY THE
BOARD OF THE STATUS CHANGE.

(2)  ON RECEIPT OF THIS NOTICE, THE BOARD SHALL
CHARGE THE PHYSICIAN THE LICENSE FEE OTHERWISE REQUIRED
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

without substantive change from Art. 43, § 121A.

14-314. TERM AND RENEWAL OF LICENSES.

(A)  TERM OF LICENSE.

(1)  THE BOARD SHALL PROVIDE FOR THE TERM AND
RENEWAL OF LICENSES UNDER THIS SECTION.

(2)  THE TERM OF A LICENSE MAY NOT BE MORE THAN 3
YEARS.

(3)  A LICENSE EXPIRES AT THE END OF ITS TERM,
UNLESS THE LICENSE IS RENEWED FOR A TERM AS PROVIDED BY THE
BOARD.

(B)  RENEWAL NOTICE.

AT LEAST 1 MONTH BEFORE THE LICENSE EXPIRES, THE BOARD
SHALL SEND TO THE LICENSEE, BY FIRST CLASS MAIL TO THE LAST
KNOWN ADDRESS OF THE LICENSEE, A RENEWAL NOTICE THAT STATES:

(1)  THE DATE ON WHICH THE CURRENT LICENSE
EXPIRES;

(2)  THE DATE BY WHICH THE RENEWAL APPLICATION
MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE BOARD FOR THE RENEWAL TO BE ISSUED
AND MAILED BEFORE THE LICENSE EXPIRES; AND
