LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

610(a)(l)(i) — except for the last clause of
that item — and (ii).

The defined term "state" is substituted for the
present references to the "United States or
Puerto Rico" and the "United States", for clarity
and to conform with current Board practice. As
to the definition of "state", see § 1-101 of this
article.

The present references to the "Council on Medical
Education of the American Medical Association"
are revised as the "American Medical Association"
for simplicity and to avoid possible future
ambiguity should the American Medical Association
rename that council.

As to subsection (b)(1) of this section, the
Board requested that the General Assembly may
wish to consider substituting the term "similar"
for the present reference to foreign physical
therapy curricula being "comparable" to certain
standard curricula.

The present reference to providing evidence of
completion of clinical training now appears in §
13-305 of this subtitle.

As to the general requirements for applicants,
see § 13-302 of this subtitle.

13-304. SAME — PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANTS.

TO QUALIFY FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT LICENSE,
AN APPLICANT SHALL HAVE:

(1)  GRADUATED FROM A CURRICULUM FOR PHYSICAL
THERAPIST ASSISTANTS THAT IS APPROVED BY THE AMERICAN
PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSOCIATION; AND

(2)  COMPLETED SATISFACTORILY THE CLINICAL
TRAINING REQUIRED BY THE CURRICULUM FOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST

ASSISTANTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §
610(a)(2) — except the last clause of that
paragraph.

The present reference to providing evidence of
completion of clinical training now appears in §
13-305 of this subtitle.

As to the general requirements for applicants,
see § 13-302 of this subtitle.

13-305. APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES.
