LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, § 604.

The definition is stated in the infinitive form
to permit minor verb variations of the defined
phrase, without taking these variations out of
the scope of the definition.

In paragraph (1) of this subsection, the
reference to compensation that is paid "directly
or indirectly" is deleted as unnecessary.

In paragraph (3)(ii) of this subsection, the term
"radioactive substances" is substituted for the
present, limiting reference to "radium" to
clarify that all radioactive substances are
excluded from the practice of physical therapy.

As to the scope of this subsection, since
chiropractors can be licensed by the State Board
of Chiropractic Examiners to practice
chiropractic and physical therapy, the provisions
of this subsection are cross referenced in and
apply to Title 3, "Chiropractors", of this
article.

(J) RESTRICTED LICENSE.

"RESTRICTED LICENSE" MEANS A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE
BOARD UNDER AND AS LIMITED BY § 13-314 OF THIS TITLE TO
PRACTICE PHYSICAL THERAPY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of phrases such as
"restricted license to practice physical
therapy".

For the provisions concerning a restricted
license, see § 13-314 of this title.

(K) TEMPORARY LICENSE.

"TEMPORARY LICENSE" MEANS A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BOARD
UNDER AND AS LIMITED BY § 13-313 OF THIS TITLE TO PRACTICE:

(1)  PHYSICAL THERAPY; OR

(2)  LIMITED PHYSICAL THERAPY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of phrases such as
"temporary license to practice physical therapy"
and "temporary license to practice limited
physical therapy".

For the provisions concerning a temporary
license, see § 13-313 of this title.
