"LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT" MEANS, UNLESS
THE CONTEXT REQUIRES OTHERWISE, A PHYSICAL THERAPIST
ASSISTANT WHO IS LICENSED BY THE BOARD TO PRACTICE LIMITED
PHYSICAL THERAPY.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of phrases such as
"individual licensed to practice limited physical
therapy".
On occasion, the term "licensee" is used in this
title as a synonym for "licensed physical
therapist assistant". Since "license" is defined
in subsection (c) of this section, "licensee"
need not be defined separately.
For the scope of a physical therapist assistant
license, including the requirement that a
licensed physical therapist assistant practice
limited physical therapy only under the
supervision of a licensed physical therapist, see
§ 13-310 of this title.
(F) PHYSICAL THERAPIST.
"PHYSICAL THERAPIST" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO PRACTICES
PHYSICAL THERAPY.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 43, § 605(b).
The only changes are in style.
(G) PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT.
"PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO
PRACTICES LIMITED PHYSICAL THERAPY.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to provide an express definition of "physical
therapist assistant"; it is stated in the
standard form used to define the various health
practitioners regulated under this article.
For the scope of a physical therapy assistant
license, including the requirement that a
licensed physical therapist assistant practice
limited physical therapy only under the
supervision of a licensed physical therapist, see
§ 13-310 of this title.
As to present Art. 43, § 605(c), which defines
"physical therapist assistant", see the revisor's
note to the definition of "practice limited
physical therapy" in subsection (h) of this
section.
