practice. Therefore, the Commission to Revise the Annotated
Code has deleted present Art. 43, §§ 475 and 476(b), which
relate to recordation with the Circuit Court, and § 480(b)
and (c), which relates to wrongful registration and the duty
of certain officers to enforce registrations.

TITLE 12. PHARMACISTS AND PHARMACIES.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS.

12-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B)  AUTHORIZED PRESCRIBER.

"AUTHORIZED PRESCRIBER" MEANS ANY LICENSED DENTIST,
LICENSED PHYSICIAN, LICENSED PODIATRIST, OR LICENSED
VETERINARIAN, OR OTHER INDIVIDUAL AUTHORIZED BY LAW TO
PRESCRIBE DRUGS, MEDICINES, OR DEVICES. VETERINARIAN.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to replace the various, unnecessarily diverse
references throughout the present law to those
who may issue prescriptions. See the General
Revisor's Note to this title.

(C)  BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY.

to avoid needless repetition of the full title of
the Board.

(D)  DEVICE.

(1)  "DEVICE" MEANS A DEVICE USED IN THE
DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, OR PREVENTION OF DISEASE.

(2)  "DEVICE" DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY:

(I)  SURGICAL OR DENTAL INSTRUMENT;

(II)  PHYSICAL THERAPY EQUIPMENT;
