EMERGENCY BILL

AN EMERGENCY ACT concerning

Collective Bargaining Agreement - Deputy Sheriffs
Association of Prince George's County, Inc.

FOR the purpose of approving an agreement by and
between Prince George's County and the Deputy Sheriffs
Association of Prince George's County, Inc., describing
compensation for personnel classifications certified by the
Prince George's County Public Employee Relations Board,
including the following: wage increases; call back pay;
holiday pay; overtime pay; shift differential; acting pay;
clothing issue and allowance; savings clause; effective
date; and termination.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments:

SUBTITLE 16. PERSONNEL.

Section 16-233(f)

The Prince George's County Code

AN ACT concerning

Pre-Trial Third Party Custody

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Executive to
contract for a program of supervised third party custody of
certain defendants in criminal proceedings.

BY adding:

SUBTITLE 7. COURT SYSTEM.
Sections 7-186 and 7-187,
The Prince George's County Code
(1979 Edition).

WHEREAS, there are many persons charged in criminal
proceedings who are unable to make financial bond or qualify
for release from custody upon personal recognizance; and

WHEREAS, these persons are held by court order in the
County Detention Center awaiting trial; and

WHEREAS, the County Detention Center has been termed
constitutionally overcrowded in a class action suit filed
against the County; and
