STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland
on November 4, 1980, an Act known as Chapter 507 of the Acts
of 1980 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
in accordance with the provisions of said Act, said Act
being as follows:
AN ACT concerning Queen Anne's County - County Office
Bonds. For the purpose of authorizing and empowering the
County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County, from time to
time, to borrow not more than Two Million Dollars
($2,000,000) and to effect such borrowing by the issuance
and sale at public or private sale of its general obligation
bonds in like par amount in order to finance the costs of
construction of a county office building in Centreville,
including the costs of acquisition and development of
property rights, acquisition and installation of furnishings
and equipment and any related architectural, financial,
legal, planning and engineering services, together with the
costs of issuance, sale, and delivery of the bonds;
empowering the County to fix and determine, by resolution,
the form, tenor, interest rate or rates or method of
determining the same, terms, conditions, maturities and all
other details incident to the issuance and sale of the
bonds; empowering the County to issue refunding bonds for
the purchase or redemption of bonds in advance of maturity;
empowering and directing the County to levy, impose and
collect, annually, ad valorem taxes in rate and amount
sufficient to provide funds for the payment of the maturing
principal of and interest on the bonds; exempting the bonds
and refunding bonds, and the interest thereon and any income
derived therefrom, from all State, county, municipal and
other taxation in the State of Maryland; making the
effectiveness of this Act subject to a local referendum; and
relating generally to the issuance and sale of such bonds.
And it is hereby certified that at said election, 1,973
votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 507 and
4,668 votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter
507, the said Chapter 507 of the Acts of 1980 has therefore
failed ratification by the qualified voters of Queen Anne's
County.
