LAWS OF MARYLAND
Ch.8
It is a precept of the Commission to revise the law in
a clear, straightforward manner, and once something is said,
to say it the same way each time it is said. To obtain
clarity and consistency and to avoid the superfluous and
misleading aspects of the present references, throughout
this title all references to the requirement that a nursing
home administrator must be registered are deleted and
references to periodic license renewal are substituted for
all references to periodic reregistration. These are
changes in form only; no change in substance is intended.
Present Art. 43, § 773(b), (c), and (d), which provides
for a temporary license, is deleted as obsolete since the
program on which this temporary license is based, § 1908 of
the Social Security Act, ended on June 30, 1972.
Present Art. 43, § 778, which provides for the
severability of the provisions of this title, is deleted as
unnecessary in light of Art. 1, § 23 of the Code.
Present Art. 43, § 779, which provides that the Board
shall be funded as provided by the State budget, is deleted
as unnecessary and partially obsolete. The first sentence
of present Art. 43, § 779 merely restates the obvious
i.e., that the funds for this subtitle are derived from the
State budget. The second and third sentences of present
Art. 43, § 779, which relate to the funding mechanism for
the July 1, 1970 fiscal year and earlier expenses, are
deleted as obsolete.
