SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 25 - County Commissioners
51.
(d) The county treasurer of St. Mary's County shall
receive an annual salary of [$7,000.00] $20,000. [The
clerk to the: county treasurer shall receive an annual salary
to be fixed by the County Commissioners. ]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland be repealed,
amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 19 - St. Mary's County
139-4.
The County Budget Officer, within thirty (30) days
after the completion of each annual levy, shall deliver to
the County Treasurer a full copy thereof, together with a
list of taxpayers and their assessment, and the Treasurer
shall collect the same according to law and pay over to the
county or the parties entitled thereto the amount so
collected. The bond of the Treasurer shall be liable for
all sums of money collected by him on account of state and
county taxes, as aforesaid, until they shall have been duly
accounted for and paid over according to law. He shall be
the collector of all state and county taxes that may be
levied by the County Commissioners for St. Mary's County,
or otherwise, and shall have power and authority to receive
and collect the taxes and to enforce the payment thereof,
and to convey title to any real or personal estate sold by
him for the payment thereof. When there are no bidders for
