(B)  MEETINGS.

IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER MEETING REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
TITLE, THE BOARD SHALL MEET:

(1)  AT THE REQUEST OF THE SECRETARY; OR

(2)  IF NECESSARY TO TRANSACT ITS BUSINESS.

(C)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE BUDGET, EACH MEMBER OF THE
BOARD IS ENTITLED TO:

(1)  $40 FOR EACH DAY THE MEMBER IS ENGAGED IN
BOARD BUSINESS; AND

(2)  REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES UNDER THE
STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

(D)  STAFF.
THE BOARD MAY:

(1)  EMPLOY A STAFF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE
BUDGET; AND

(2)  DEFINE THE DUTIES OF ITS STAFF.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §
294(a)(15) and (16), (c), and the second and
third sentences of (d) and from Art. 43, §
294(f).

In subsection (a) of this section, the present
provision calling for a quorum of "{s}ix
members of the Board" is restated, without
substantive change, in more general language that
refers to "a majority of the full authorized
membership" of the Board. This language conforms
to similar provisions in other titles of this
article and will accommodate possible future
legislative changes in the number of members to
be appointed to the Board, without the necessity
of enacting a conforming change here. As to the
current "full authorized membership" of the
Board, see § 7-202(a)(l) of this subtitle.

In the introductory paragraph of subsection (d)
of this section, "may" is substituted for the
phrase "shall have the powers and duties" to
clarify the discretion of the Board.

As to subsection (c) of this section, Standard
State Travel Regulations are adopted by the
