HARRY HUGHES, Governor                               2721

FOR the purpose of prohibiting any person from bringing into
this State,delivering in this State, or possessing in
this State, with intent to deliver, certain controlled
dangerous substances in excess of certain amounts;
prohibiting any person from delivering in this State or
possessing in this State, with intent to deliver,
certain other controlled dangerous substances in excess
of certain amounts; and establishing penalties for
violations of this Act.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

Section 286A

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

286A.

(a) A person who brings into this State, DELIVERS IN
THIS STATE, OR POSSESS IN THIS STATE, WITH INTENT TO
DELIVER, any of the following controlled dangerous
substances which it is unlawful for that person to possess,
in the amounts indicated, upon conviction, is subject to the
penalty provided in subsection (b) of this section:

(1)  100 pounds or greater of marijuana;

(2)  28 grams or greater of cocaine or any
mixture containing 28 GRAMS OR GREATER OF cocaine; [or]

(3)  4 grams or more of morphine or opium or any
derivative, salt, isomer, or salt of an isomer of morphine
or opium;

(4)  1,000 DOSAGE UNITS OF LYSERGIC ACID
DIETHYLAMIDE OR ANY MIXTURE CONTAINING THE EQUIVALENT OF
1,000 DOSAGE UNITS OF LYSERGIC ACID DIETHYLIDE;

(5)  28 GRAMS OR MORE OF PHENCYCLIDINE OR ANY IN
LIQUID OR POWDER FORM OR 112 GRAMS OR MORE OF ANY MIXTURE
CONTAINING PHENCYCLIDINE;

(6)  1,000 DOSAGE UNITS OR MORE OF METHAQUALONE;
OR

(7) 28 GRAMS OR MORE OF METHAMPHETAMINES.
