Ch. 668

(B)  THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS STUDY SHALL BE TO
DETERMINE A MEANS TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITIOUS FOOD
AND NUTRITION EDUCATION FOR PREGNANT WOMEN, INFANTS, AND
YOUNG CHILDREN AS AN ADJUNCT TO GOOD HEALTH CARE DURING
CRITICAL STAGES OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN ORDER TO
PREVENT THE OCCURRENCE OF HEALTH PROBLEMS. THE PROGRAM
SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FEDERAL
PROGRAM. PROBLEMS. THE STUDY SHALL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION
BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO CONSIDERING THE FEDERAL PROGRAM.

(C) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND

REGULATIONS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS

SUBTITLE CONSISTENT WITH THE FEDERAL PROGRAM INCLUDING:

(C)  THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT ITS FINDINGS TO THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY NO LATER THAN JULY 1, 1983. THE REPORT
SHALL INCLUDE;

(1)  PROCEDURES FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF STATE
FUNDS TO LOCAL AGENCIES;

(2)  PROCEDURES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE A
PROGRAM;

(3)  GUIDELINES USED TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY;

(4)  NUTRITION EDUCATION GUIDELINES AND GOALS;

AND
AND

(5) PROCEDURES FOR THE COLLECTION OF COST DATA.;

(6) COMPARISON OF COSTS OF A PROGRAM FOR
ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS AND THE COSTS OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR
ELIGIBLE PREGNANT MOTHERS, INFANTS, AND YOUNG CHILDREN NOT
RECEIVING PROGRAM FUNDS.

THIS PROGRAM SHALL BE FUNDED BY AN APPROPRIATE IN THE
STATE BUDGET OF 5 PERCENT OF THE PREVIOUS FISCAL YEARS
FEDERAL PROGRAM'S ALLOCATION TO THE STATE.

951.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT ITS FINDINGS TO THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY NO LATER THAN JULY 1, 1983. THE REPORT SHALL
INCLUDE A COMPARISON OF COSTS OF THE PROGRAM FOR ELIGIBLE
RECIPIENTS AND THE COSTS OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR ELIGIBLE
PREGNANT MOTHERS, INFANTS, AND YOUNG CHILDREN NOT RECEIVING
PROGRAM FUNDS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
