SUBTITLE 3. LICENSING.

5-301. LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTION.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, AN
INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE LICENSED BY THE BOARD BEFORE THE
INDIVIDUAL MAY PRACTICE ELECTROLOGY OR TEACH THE CLINICAL
PRACTICE OF ELECTROLOGY IN THIS STATE.

(B)  EXCEPTION.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A STUDENT WHO IS
PRACTICING ELECTROLOGY AS PART OF AN APPROVED CLINICAL
ELECTROLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAM.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §
555B-13.

Subsection (b) of this section is revised to
clarify that the approved clinical electrology
education program need not be taught at an
approved institution.

Present Art. 43, § 555B-13(b)(2), which provides
an exception to the license requirements of this
section until October 31, 1979 for certain
electrologists and electrology instructors who
were licensed by the State Board of
Cosmetologists, is deleted as obsolete. For
additional provisions concerning these
electrologists and electrology instructors, see §
5-306 of this subtitle.

As to exemptions from the requirements of this
title, see § 5-102 of this title.

As to the approval of electrology education
programs, see §§ 5-401 and 5-402 of this title.

5-302. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE, AN APPLICANT SHALL BE AN
INDIVIDUAL WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.
