AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - Tax Sale - Rate of Redemption

FOR the purpose of altering the rate of redemption
applicable to tax sales in Calvert County; and
clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes
Section 83(b)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

83.

(b) The rate of redemption is 6 percent per annum
except as follows:

(1)  In Anne Arundel County the rate is 6 percent
PER annum or as fixed by ordinance of the County Council;
[and]

(2)  In Baltimore City the rate is 6 percent per
annum or as fixed by ordinance of the City Council; [and]

(3)  In Baltimore County the rate is 6 percent
per annum or as fixed by ordinance of the County Council;
[and]

(4)  IN CALVERT COUNTY THE RATE IS 10 PERCENT PER
ANNUM OR AS FIXED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS;

[(4)] (5) In Frederick County the rate is 6
percent per annum or as fixed by the County Commissioners;
