(12) USE OF A CONTRACT RELATED TO A CONSUMER
TRANSACTION WHICH CONTAINS A CONFESSED JUDGMENT CLAUSE THAT
WAIVES THE CONSUMER'S RIGHT TO ASSERT A LEGAL DEFENSE TO AN
ACTION; OR

SECTION -2- 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning

Delinquent Acts - Parental Responsibility For
Funeral Expenses

FOR the purpose of providing for the payment of funeral
expenses by parents of a child whose delinquent act
results in the death of; and providing for

damages dependent on the number of victims of

delinquent acts.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

Section 3-829

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1980 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

3-829.

(a) The court may enter a judgment of restitution
against the parent of a child, or the child in any case in
which the court finds a child has committed a delinquent act
and during the commission of that delinquent act has:

(1)  Stolen, damaged, or destroyed the property
of another; [or]

(2)  Inflicted personal injury on another,
requiring the injured person to incur medical, dental, or
hospital, OR FUNERAL expenses; OR.
