AN ACT concerning

Home Improvement Commission - Employment of Experts

FOR the purpose of authorizing the executive director of the
Maryland Home Improvement Commission to contract for
the services of experts when warranted by a particular
case.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 252(d)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

252.

(d) The executive director shall employ investigators
and inspectors whose positions shall be within the merit
system established by Article 64A of this Code AND MAY, IF A
PARTICULAR CASE WARRANTS, CONTRACT FOR THE SERVICES OF
EXPERTS. The investigators [and], inspectors, AND OR
CONTRACTUAL EXPERTS shall investigate only home improvement
complaints. The Attorney General of Maryland may appoint a
qualified attorney-at-law who shall serve at the pleasure of
the Attorney General to represent the Commission.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
