(a) As used in this section, the term "crime of
violence" means abduction; arson; kidnapping; manslaughter,
except involuntary manslaughter; mayhem; murder; rape;
robbery; ROBBERY WITH A A DEADLY WEAPON; sexual offense in
the first degree; sexual offense in the second degree; use
of a handgun in the commission of a felony or other crime of
violence; an attempt to commit any of the aforesaid
offenses; assault with intent to murder; and assault with
intent to rape.

The term "correctional institution" includes Patuxent
Institution and a local or regional jail or detention
center.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

(House Bill 292)

AN ACT concerning

Elections - Campaign Fund Reports

FOR the purpose of requiring certain campaign fund reports
to be mailed before a certain time; and requiring
certain verifications by the U.S. Postal Service. to be
filed no later than certain dates; and altering certain
provisions relating to constructive timely filing.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 26-11(e) 26-ll(a)(2) and (e)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

26-11.

(a) A Candidate for nomination or election to public
or party office, including write-in candidates, and the
treasurer designated by that candidate shall file the report
or statement of contributions and expenditures as prescribed
