[(d)] (E) "Hearing" means any meeting in the course of
an investigatory proceeding, other than an interrogation, at
which no testimony is taken under oath, conducted by a
hearing board for the purpose of taking or adducing
testimony or receiving other evidence.

[(e)] (F) "Summary punishment" is punishment imposed
by the highest ranking officer of a unit or member acting in
that capacity, which may be imposed when the facts
constituting the offense are not in dispute. Summary
punishment may not exceed three days suspension without pay
or a fine of $150.

[(f)] (G) "Chief" means the superintendent,
commissioner, chief of police, or sheriff of a
law-enforcement agency, or the officer designated by the
official.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning

State Documents - Publications Publication and
Procedural Requirements

FOR the purpose of eliminating the requirements for the

publication of certain documents in the Maryland

Register, providing certain requirements for the

publication of certain meeting notices; modifying

certain requirements regarding the frequency of
publication of the Maryland Register; providing certain
filing requirements for certain documents; modifying
certain provisions of law regarding the legal effect of
certain notices; renumbering and making stylistic
changes; correcting a cross-reference; making a
technical correction; and generally relating to State
documents.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative

Departments
Section 256F(b), (c)(1) and (c)(4), and 256P(b)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1978 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)
