SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(as enacted by Chapter 775 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1980) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article 21 - Procurement

9-103.

(b) (1) The four permanent members of the
Transportation Selection Board are:

(i) The Secretary, ex officio, or his
designee;

(ii) One member appointed from the
Department by the Governor on recommendation of the
Secretary, which member serves at the pleasure of the
Governor; and

(iii) Two members appointed from the
general public by the Governor, at least one of whom is not
an architect or engineer and each of whom serves a term of

[ [ 4 ] 5 ] 5 years and until his successor is

appointed and qualifies.

(2)  On recommendation of the Secretary, the
Governor may appoint an alternate member to serve in the
absence of the regular member appointed under this
subsection from the Department.

(3)  THE TWO MEMBERS APPOINTED FROM THE GENERAL
PUBLIC SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE
PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD
TRAVEL REGULATIONS AND SHALL BE PAID SUCH PER DIEM
COMPENSATION FOR THEIR SERVICES AS MAY BE PROVIDED FOR IN
THE BUDGET.
