In subsection (e) of this section, the term
"renewal certificate" is substituted for
"certificate of registration", for clarity and to
conform with changes in terminology made
throughout this title. See the General Revisor's
Note to this title.

As to the authority of the Board to set fees, see
§ 4-207 of this title.

The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code calls
to the attention of the General Assembly that in
practice the Board does not require the license
number, degree, or school that awarded the degree
to be included in the renewal application.

THE LICENSEE:

(I)  DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT OF §
4-309(C) OF THIS SUBTITLE TO HAVE PRACTICED ACTIVELY WITHIN
3 YEARS BEFORE THE LICENSE EXPIRES;

(II)  SUBMITS TO THE BOARD AN APPLICATION
FOR INACTIVE STATUS ON THE FORM REQUIRED BY THE BOARD; AND

(III)  PAYS TO THE BOARD THE INACTIVE
STATUS APPLICATION FEE SET BY THE BOARD.

(2)  A LICENSEE ON INACTIVE STATUS MAY NOT
PRACTICE DENTISTRY OR DENTAL HYGIENE IN THIS STATE.

(B)  PERIOD OF INACTIVE STATUS.

AN INDIVIDUAL ON INACTIVE STATUS LOSES THAT STATUS ON
THE APRIL 1 AFTER IT IS GRANTED, UNLESS THE LICENSEE APPLIES
FOR ANOTHER 1-YEAR PERIOD AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.

BEFORE APRIL 1 OF EACH YEAR, AN INDIVIDUAL ON INACTIVE
